About

  • The official images, pinned: no compiling a large Rust workspace on the VM.
  • Accounts, posts, communities and the private keys that are your instance's identity live in a managed Postgres on its own private VM.
  • The administrator is created from the config file during startup, so there is no window in which a stranger can register as one.
  • The hostname is chosen before the first boot, because for a federated instance the domain is permanent.
