Data Location

Last updated: May 2026

This page describes where customer data and personal data processed by redu.cloud is stored and processed. We aim to be transparent about data locations so customers can make informed decisions for their own compliance requirements.

1. Production Infrastructure

redu.cloud's production cloud infrastructure is operated in Germany, European Union. Customer workloads — compute instances, volumes, private networks, snapshots, backups, and associated data — are stored and processed in this region.

Germany is a member of the European Union. Processing in Germany is within the scope of EU GDPR and UK GDPR adequacy arrangements. No additional international transfer mechanism is required for customer-to-EU data flows.

2. Customer Data in the Platform

When you use redu.cloud to create and manage cloud resources, the following data is stored in our production region (Germany):

  • Compute instance configurations and metadata
  • Volume data and snapshots
  • Backup data
  • Private network configurations
  • Platform usage records and billing data
  • Audit logs of platform actions

3. Operational and Support Data

Some operational and administrative data may be processed outside Germany in the course of running the business:

  • Customer support communications are handled via Google Workspace (Gmail), which may process emails in the EEA and/or United States under Google's standard contractual clauses.
  • Payment and billing data is processed by Stripe, which operates in the EEA, UK, and United States.
  • Startup Programme applications submitted via Google Forms may be processed in the EEA and/or United States.
  • Website analytics are handled by a self-hosted Umami instance running on our own infrastructure in Germany — no data leaves our control.

4. Serbia

Some operational activities may involve team members or systems based in Serbia. The European Commission has granted adequacy status to Serbia for personal data transfers from the EU. UK adequacy regulations also cover Serbia. Any transfer of personal data to Serbia is covered by EU or UK adequacy decisions.

5. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell customer data to third parties
  • We do not transfer customer workload data outside Germany without your instruction
  • We do not use customer data to train AI or machine learning models

6. Future Regions

We plan to expand to additional European regions over time. When new regions are made available, customers will be able to choose where their workloads run. We will update this page when new regions are launched.

Our roadmap prioritises European data residency. We aim to give customers meaningful control over where their data is stored as capacity grows.

7. Subprocessors

A full list of third-party providers who may process personal data on our behalf is available on our Subprocessors page.
