Is there a free Postgres database for testing or development?
Yes. Render's lasts 30 days with no card. For many test databases you keep without a card: Neon (up to 100 projects) or Prisma Postgres (up to 50 databases).
Neon, Aiven, Prisma Postgres and Layerbase give a free Postgres with no card and no time limit, checked 1 November 2026. Supabase pauses free projects after a week of inactivity; Render's free Postgres expires after 30 days.
What redu adds: an Ubuntu server (1 vCPU, 2 GB RAM, 10 GB disk) next to an always-on private Postgres, both created and run by your agent over MCP.
redu is our product. Every other provider below is quoted from its own pages, read on 1 November 2026. Prices and limits change, so check each provider's linked page.
Both always on, run by your agent.
