About

  • The same server that runs asciinema.org, self-hosted: recordings, playback, sharing links and live streaming.
  • Point the asciinema CLI at your own hostname with one environment variable and keep every recording.
  • Accounts and recording metadata live in a managed Postgres on its own private VM; the .cast files sit on a volume beside the app.
  • Deployed with the admin account claimed, signups closed and anonymous uploads refused, which is not how it arrives out of the box.
